A Beautiful Fall Wedding at Where the Creeks Meet | Jeanna & Michael Johnson

October 11, 2026 | Montreal, Missouri | Jazzy Josh DJ & Events

There's something special about a fall wedding in the Missouri Ozarks. The changing leaves, cooler evenings, and rustic venues make for some incredible celebrations.

On October 11, 2026, I had the pleasure of celebrating Jeanna and Michael Johnson's wedding at Where the Creeks Meet, a beautiful barn wedding venue in Montreal, Missouri, near the Lake of the Ozarks.

From the outdoor ceremony to the reception inside the barn, it was a fantastic day filled with family, music, and some of the best wedding food I've ever had!

An Outdoor Wedding Ceremony in the Ozark Hills

Jeanna and Michael exchanged vows beneath a wooden arbor decorated with pampas grass, greenery, and beautiful fall-colored flowers.

The outdoor ceremony area offered a gorgeous natural backdrop, with the surrounding hills adding to the atmosphere.

For their ceremony, I provided a separate sound system and wireless microphone for the officiant. Outdoor wedding ceremonies can present some unique audio challenges, so having dedicated equipment helps make sure guests can hear those important moments.

One of my favorite music selections was their recessional, an instrumental version of "Here Comes the Sun" by The Beatles. It was a beautiful way to wrap up the ceremony.

A Rustic Barn Reception at Where the Creeks Meet

After the ceremony, guests gathered for cocktail hour before heading inside for the reception.

The barn at Where the Creeks Meet is impressive, with exposed timber beams, chandeliers, white drapery, and plenty of space for celebrating.

The venue combines rustic character with modern conveniences, making it a great option for couples looking for a barn wedding near the Lake of the Ozarks.

You can explore the property's amenities and event spaces on the Where the Creeks Meet venue website.

For Jeanna and Michael's cocktail hour and dinner, I mixed classic country, acoustic favorites, and familiar songs from artists like Amos Lee, Eric Church, George Strait, and Frank Sinatra.

The goal was to keep things comfortable and relaxed before moving into the evening's dancing.

Wedding DJ and MC Services That Keep Everything Moving

As their wedding DJ and MC, I helped guide the reception through introductions, announcements, dinner, and special dances.

A wedding DJ's job involves much more than playing music. It's about keeping the evening organized, working with the venue and other vendors, and making sure important moments happen naturally.

Once the dance floor opened, the music shifted toward a mix of country favorites, classic party songs, and throwbacks.

I always build my wedding music around the couple's preferences while leaving room to read the crowd and adjust throughout the evening.

That's a big part of how I approach wedding DJ entertainment throughout Missouri. Every crowd is different, and the music should reflect that.

A Custom 4×6 Wedding Photo Booth and Digital Guestbook

Jeanna and Michael also had our print photo booth available for their guests.

We designed a custom 4×6 photo layout featuring The Johnsons, their wedding date, and rustic colors that complemented the wedding decorations.

Guests could take home their printed pictures and leave written messages for the couple through a digital photo guestbook.

It's a fun combination because guests get a physical keepsake, while the newlyweds receive a collection of photos and personal messages from their celebration.

Some of the Best Wedding Food I've Ever Had!

I can't write about this wedding without mentioning the food!

There was an enormous pot of homemade Cajun gumbo, and it was absolutely incredible.

Even better, the gumbo was served over potato salad in the Louisiana tradition. If you've never tried gumbo that way, you're missing out!

I've DJed a lot of weddings over the years, and this was genuinely some of the best wedding food I've had.

The food, the setting, and the wonderful people made this one of those celebrations that really sticks with you.

Why Where the Creeks Meet Is a Great Missouri Wedding Venue

For couples considering a rustic wedding near Camdenton, Osage Beach, or the Lake of the Ozarks, Where the Creeks Meet is definitely worth exploring.

The venue offers a combination of outdoor ceremony space and a spacious indoor barn, allowing couples to enjoy the natural scenery while keeping their reception in one location.

That also makes things easier for guests since there's no need to travel between the ceremony and reception.

Couples can view more examples of weddings at the property through the venue's official wedding gallery.

Having worked there firsthand, I especially appreciated the atmosphere of the barn and the opportunities to create a great experience with music, lighting, and photo booth entertainment.

Congratulations, Jeanna & Michael!

A huge thank-you to Jeanna and Michael Johnson for trusting me with their wedding entertainment.

It was a pleasure celebrating with you, your family, and friends at Where the Creeks Meet. Everything came together beautifully, and I wish you both many happy years ahead!
