Sunday Funday Pool Party DJ in Columbia, MO | West Broadway Swim Club Recap

There’s just something about a Sunday afternoon at the pool that hits different — and this past weekend at West Broadway Swim Club in Columbia, Missouri was exactly that kind of vibe.

I had the chance to DJ their Sunday Funday event from 1–4 PM, and it was the perfect mix of sunshine, families, and nonstop fun. From the moment people started rolling in, the energy was easygoing but excited — kids ready to jump in, parents ready to relax, and me getting the soundtrack dialed in for the afternoon.

We kicked things off with some laid-back summer tunes to ease everyone into the day, then gradually built into more upbeat, family-friendly hits. Once the crowd was ready, we jumped into games — and that’s where things really took off.

The cannonball contest? Absolute chaos in the best way. Huge splashes, tons of cheering, and a few surprise contenders who clearly came to win. We mixed in dance moments like the Cha Cha Slide and Macarena so kids and parents could get involved together, and those always turn into some of the most fun moments of the day.

What I love about events like this is how they bring everyone together. It’s not just background music — it’s creating moments. Watching kids drag their parents onto the “dance floor,” seeing groups laughing during games, and just feeling that shared energy is why I love doing what I do.

By the end of the afternoon, we wound things down with some feel-good singalongs and chill tracks as people started packing up — sunburned, tired, and smiling.
