One of the best parts of being a wedding DJ is getting to celebrate with couples who truly enjoy being surrounded by their favorite people, and that was exactly the case for Devin and Josh's wedding reception at The Millbottom in Jefferson City, Missouri.

The Millbottom is one of the most unique wedding venues in Mid-Missouri, featuring exposed brick walls, dramatic ceiling draping, string lighting, and an industrial-chic atmosphere that creates an incredible backdrop for both elegant receptions and energetic dance parties.

A Beautiful Reception at The Millbottom

Guests gathered at The Millbottom for an evening filled with laughter, great food, heartfelt speeches, and plenty of dancing. The reception space looked stunning as family and friends arrived and found their seats beneath the venue's signature draping and warm lighting.

The wedding party made their introductions during cocktail hour to "Smooth Operator" by Sade, setting a fun and relaxed tone for the evening. Shortly afterward, Devin and Josh made their grand entrance into the reception before sharing a special cake-cutting moment and welcoming guests to dinner.

Meaningful Moments

One of the highlights of the evening was watching the couple share their first dance to "You're My Best Friend" by Tim McGraw.

Family traditions remained an important part of the celebration as Devin shared a father-daughter dance to Eric Clapton's timeless classic "Wonderful Tonight." The evening was filled with genuine moments that reflected the close relationships surrounding the couple.

Heartfelt toasts from family and friends provided laughter, stories, and plenty of happy tears before the dance floor officially opened.

As the night continued, guests quickly filled the dance floor. One thing I love about weddings at The Millbottom is how the venue creates an atmosphere where everyone naturally gathers together.

The music throughout the evening reflected the couple's style, blending country favorites, classic singalongs, 90s throwbacks, and party hits that kept guests engaged all night long.

From "Friends in Low Places" to dance floor favorites and crowd singalongs, multiple generations found themselves sharing the dance floor together. Watching grandparents, parents, friends, and kids all celebrating side by side is always one of the most rewarding parts of a wedding reception.
